about
Dear chums,
I wrote these lyrics from the many conversations I have in my head whilst locked in a practice room, desperately trying to get better at running horse hair across pieces of metal in a way that follows a pattern notated by a dead person, and occasionally feeling slightly down about it. However this song is also dedicated to my little sister, Ingrid Bartkowiak, a girl who is the master of sarcasm and self-insults, but puts a tonne of pressure on herself to succeed and make other people happy. So if ever you're finding yourself being all up in that ol' way, take a seat my friend...and listen to this song.
Monique :)
lyrics
Take a seat my friend
You've come a long, long way
You've been walking on those feet
For almost 72 days
Settle down now sister
You're driving me insane
Seems you got a few them thoughts
Buzzing around inside your brain
It's so insane
But time won't wait for us
We can't save it up
Go get it, buy your own ticket, otherwise you'll miss it
That's what they always say
You better hurry up now
I don't care what you say
Our pasts are chasing us it looks
Like we aren't gonna get away
Darling, darling don't you cry
After all it's only life
For the moment you just be
Whatever makes you happy
But time won't wait for us
We can't save it up
Go get it, buy your own ticket, otherwise you'll miss it
That's what they always say
